The following images were created with DOF PRO v3.0's new custom aperture maps feature. These maps are from the Aperture Map Online Library and the respective map is shown within each image. Custom aperture maps can be created in any paint program capable of saving 8 or 24 bit uncompressed BMP images at a fixed resolution of 256x256. They are a significant new feature of DOF PRO v3.0 as they provide the artist with ultimate control over the shape and body of the aperture. More importantly, they also allow real-world aperture shape extraction and re-use for extremely realistic bokeh effects. Aperture maps can also be used to create a variety of other effects such as diffuse glows, glitters, starbursts and much more.
